Thanks, @BarackObama, for causing her to lose her cardiologist. Her name is Norah, not that you care.

3 More Brutal Takedowns of the #Hashtag President

Hashtag Diplomacy Jumps the Shark

The Obama administration’s “hashtag diplomacy” has been under criticism for some time, though condemnation of its participation in the campaign to rescue the girls kidnapped by Nigeria’s Islamist terror group Boko Haram–tweeting messages along with the tag #BringBackOurGirls–was especially voluble this weekend. I agree with Jonathan on First Lady Michelle Obama’s decision to join the hashtag campaign: it’s harmless; she’s a political celebrity without the power to do more than speak out anyway; and while she certainly can simply tell her husband to “bring back our girls” in private, doing so publicly is more meaningful, and possibly more effective….

A Selfie-Taking, Hashtagging, Teenage Administration

As American foreign policy continues its long string of failures—not a series of singles and doubles, as President Obama asserted in a recent news conference, but rather season upon season of fouls and strikes—the question becomes: Why? Why does the Economist magazine put a tethered eagle on its cover, with the plaintive question, “What would America fight for?” Why do Washington Post columnists sympathetic to the administration write pieces like one last week headlined, “Obama tends to create his own foreign policy headaches”? The administration would respond with complaints, some legitimate, about the difficulties of an intractable world.

The #Hashtag President, Yes We Can, is now, Yes, We Care!

#BRINGBACKOURBALLS: “It is hard not to have total contempt for a political culture that thinks the picture at right is a useful contribution to rescuing 276 schoolgirls kidnapped by jihadist savages in Nigeria,” Mark Steyn writes. “Yet some pajama boy at the White House evidently felt getting the First Lady to pose with this week’s Hashtag of Western Impotence would reflect well upon the Administration. The horrible thing is they may be right: Michelle showed she cared — on social media! — and that’s all that matters, isn’t it?”

Progressive “Logic” revisited

Trey Gowdy Demands Answers On Benghazi

Updated: Democrats reply by first throwing everything but the kitchen sink to see what sticks…
Democratic leaders have called the new committee “a political ploy,” a “stunt,” a “sham,” a “waste of taxpayer dollars” and, in the words of White House spokesman Jay Carney, “a blatantly political and partisan effort.” This week, two arms of the party, the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, launched a coordinated messaging blitz (Patrick: In conjunction with the mainstream press) to undermine the committee and cast Republicans as political opportunists who have established the select committee only because of their interest in raising money and exciting the GOP base before the 2014 midterm elections.

I think they were a little too honest in that article about the democrats and liberal media (BIRM) favorite tactic, demonize, demonize, demonize the oppositions as cranks and maybe nobody will listen (it works most of the time, so eh, why not)…

Video: The banality of evil, Gosnell edition

Ann and her husband Phelim McAleer and Magda Segieda are nearing the end of their crowdfunding effort to produce a TV movie about Gosnell, “the most prolific serial killer in American history.” They have to hit $2.1 million in order to secure the funding for the Gosnell Movie project, and they’re close — at just over $1.99 million as of the time this post was written. More than 21,000 people have contributed to this project, an amazingly wide donor base for a crowdfunding effort. They only need a little over $100,000 in the next four days in order to succeed.
